How to Program most GM Key Fobs

May 30, 2007 By Andrew Hughes 173 Comments

Try this first. It worked on mine.

Close all the vehicle doors.
Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder.
Press and hold the DOOR unlock switch.
While holding the DOOR lock switch in the unlock position, cycle the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF.
Release the DOOR unlock switch. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm the program mode.
Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one keyless remote. After a delay of approximately 15 seconds , the doors will lock and unlock to confirm the programming of that transmitter.
Repeat the previous step to program up to four transmitters.
Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (one more click forward) position in order to exit the keyless entry transmitter mode.
Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation

There you go!

UPDATE #1: After messing around with a couple of Key Fobs, I noticed that most owner’s manuals have the programming directions already. Check your owner’s manual first!

I will try to post a how to on programming keys.

UPDATE #2: I have tried this on a 2001 Grand Prix GTP and 1999-2002 Grand Am GT

UPDATE #3: This only works for some GM vehicles from 1996-2005.

Vertebreaker! Episode #0011 “Popsicles and Audio Mess-ups”

“Popsicles and Audio Mess-ups”

This week’s edition is a special hour and a half show. We talk about everything including sexual escapes, NFL draft, video games, Wii, Music, and more. We taped the show on April 28th/29th, but I had some problems with the audio. I FINALLY figured out what I have been doing wrong. Next week’s show will sound better. We will start releasing the shows on Sunday Nights/Monday Mornings. This week’s special guests include Andrew Hughes, Aaron Hughes, Mike Smith, Brian Schoutteet, Dave Pate, Joe Snider, and Doug Hahn.

We have decided to change the format around a little bit. We will always talk about wrestling, but we are adding some Pop Culture information. If we think its cool, we talk about it. Any questions? call (309) 761-4227. I listen and will call ALL phone calls!

Chevelle “I Get It”

May 4, 2007 By Andrew Hughes Leave a Comment

So you say I make a man
As it is,
Well, give us your sad, sad trip

You’re right, I get it
It all makes sense, you’re the perfect person
So right, so wrong
Let’s all live in your imaginary life

Assumed it’s weather
We’re right, I’m wrong
We’re doomed, and there’s plenty for all

How dare you catch me counting
How dare you call it off
How dare you call it suffering
How dare you call it off

You’re right, I get it
It all makes sense, you’re the perfect person
So right, so wrong
Let’s all live in your imaginary life

Dress all these turings
They’re doubled in time
The touch of life, what’s failed to mention so far

Of course the lionous fountains
Or face the face we’ve mauled
Of fast and restless blackmail
Like pent-up vanished falls

You’re right, I get it
It all makes sense, you’re the perfect person
So right, so wrong
Let’s all live in your imaginary life

Do you want enough?
Do you want it all?
Should you need it at all?
Takes a man to see
Do you want enough?
Do you want it all?
Should you need it at all?
Do you want it or not?

You’re right, I get it
It all makes sense, you’re the perfect person
So right, so wrong
Let’s all live in your imaginary life

Life, life, life.

Vertebreaker! Episode #0010 “Sucked more than Occhi”

April 24, 2007 By Andrew Hughes Leave a Comment

“Sucked more than Occhi”

This week’s edition is a special shitty edition of our show. There are numerous problems with audio, sync, and more shit than I can to talk about. Any ways, we talk about how shitty wrestling is and talk about nothing… This is probably the worst show I/we have EVER done. I promise next week’s show will be better and much longer. This week’s special guests include David Pate, Brian Schoutteet, Jon Occhi, Dave Nanninga, and some 18 year old chicks that do not have a name.

We have decided to change the format around a little bit. We will always talk about wrestling, but we are adding some Pop Culture information. If we think its cool, we talk about it. Any questions? call (309) 761-4227. I listen and will call ALL phone calls!

It is that type of week again…

April 16, 2007 By Andrew Hughes Leave a Comment

My father went away for the week and I am here all by myself.  Usually being by myself is not a problem, but there are a couple.  We have been working on this ladies car for a while and finally we are putting the transmission into the vehicle.  I also have a few vehicles that are not ready yet.

I guess I should not be worried about this shit, but I cannot stop myself from thinking about it.  The other problem I have been having is going out into the public.  I have been feeling like the walls keep closing in on me.  My situation sounds stupid and weird, but I swear it is true.  I will be talking to my wife about it tonight.  Some days I come home all I want to do is cry like a little baby. I do not know if I am having problems dealing with stress or if it is something else.  I love my job.  It is fun, hard, and I feel like I did something after it is all said and done.

I have had this issue about working the same job for more than 2 years.  I am at the 1 year and 9 month mark.  Do I have to change jobs/careers to stay happy?  I hope not…  I really do like working for my father.

Heather and I are now looking for a house.  I should feel really happy about our situation, but I am nervous about it.  I was told I have a worrying problem…  Do I have to create nothing into something to have some type of conflict in my life?  I think so.

I used to buy shit to make me happy.  I have stopped doing that.  I used to blow $150-$300 a week on stupid shit.   Now I do not blow money when I am depressed.  I have been coming home and doing nothing.  I worry and worry and worry.  I am now affecting my wife.  I guess the more and more I write, I think I need happy pills…  Do drugs help you cope with reality?
What I have changed over the last 3 months?  I have not been playing Halo 2 at all.  I used to play Halo 2 on XBox Live 45-60 minutes a day and sometimes 2-3 hours!  When my wife and I were going at it 3-4 times a week, I was do ok.  When I was smoking 3-5 cigarettes a day, I did not worry like I do now.  Do I need the Halo 2, sex and/or nicotine to deal with daily problems?  The sex helped me feel like myself and comfortable with my wife.  The nicotine gave me a high and made me like confident about my life.  Halo 2 helped get the aggression out of my system.

Have you ever over analyzed a situation?  I think I am.  I think my major problem is my sleeping habits.   I need a good 9 hours of sleep tonight and I will get it.  No WWE, Halo 2, Wii, or anything else will keep me up tonight.  I know I have some type of problem, but I need more rest to find out.

Any ways, this is a special WRESTLEMANIA 23 show with special guests Aaron Hughes, Mike Smith, and Doug Hahn. We talk a little bit about WSX and TNA, but we are talking all aboot WWE this week. Stressed like a Motherf*cker

March 23, 2007 By Andrew Hughes Leave a Comment

It seems all I was doing was closing. It seems now I could not close a guy with 15G to spend on a 10G vehicle. All I want to do is frickin yell. FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK THIS! I cannot believe I still have a blog either. I thought blogs went out in 2005. Oh well, let see, ate, shit, jacked off, poopped, tea-bagged, creampie… That is what a whores blog would say.

Any ways, I have been updating my website like you would not believe. I will have 86 Productions split into different sections.

86 Productions [main site]
section 86 [podcast network]
the Andrew Day [my blog]
Hughes Auto Sales [where I work]
Paradigm [paradigm’s former site]
Our Pictures [Andrew and Heather’s Pictures]

There are more, but you get the idea. I will be switching 86productions and Hughes Auto Sales to php/MySQL system and/or Joomla content management system. I have not decided that one yet. Section 86 will be ran on WordPress/Podpress software for the time being. I will be also switching to feedburner for all my feeds. So what will be changing in the 86productions network??? Check back daily.

Really nothing changes around my world. Same old shit; different day. I will be back in a few for lots of announcements!!!

Chevelle “Humanoid”

March 22, 2007 By Andrew Hughes Leave a Comment

I paid you, scream with
Don’t try healing this too
That said, you’re full of it
All of men made to fail
Properly holding your grudge
That said, you’re full of shit.

Try accepting this…
What I face today
Forever want to crawl out
Fade out next to lazy
End it all within

What I face today
Forever want to crawl out
Fade out next to lazy
End it all within

Last burned, we’ll grab up in
From a fault that not known
Hate at work, but love a sin
The summer came, juxtapose
All the sounds of this home
But don’t complain to beat again

Try accepting this…
What I face today
Forever want to crawl out
Fade out next to lazy
End it all within

What I face today
Forever want to crawl out
Fade out next to lazy
End it all within

If only the crying could heal
I’d sell my left arm to buy passion
If only apologies worked
Well I could find some reasons
Why maybe you wouldn’t be
So ill, so, ill, sorry your souls
so fucking shallow
it’s creeping outside, outside of its hole
it’s trying to see, say it
fake this reality

What I face today
Forever want to crawl out
Fade out next to lazy
End it all within

What I face today
Forever want to crawl out
Fade out next to lazy
End it all within

What I face today
What I face today
What I face today
What I face

What I face today
What I face today
What I face today
What I face today
GREAT Frickin song!!!

FINALLY! I got one…

February 20, 2007 By Andrew Hughes Leave a Comment

After 3 fuckin’ months, I was able to purchase a Nintendo Wii.  As I stated in a previous post, I had issues getting one opening day.  I have tried 4 other times, but I failed each time.  I wanted to thank Crazy.org for updating their site using a “backdoor” through target.com.  Their site explains how the “backdoor” part works.  I am really excited about finally getting a Nintendo Wii.

There is one more thing though…  I went to get Wii Play at Target, but again I get fucked.  Some n00ber decided to purchase the last 5 copies and said he was going to put dat shiz on eBay.  WHAT THE FUCK?!?  All I wanted was a Wii and Wii Play.  I really would not be that pissed, but SERIOUSLY WHAT THE FUCK?!?  I get screwed by another n00ber…  Oh well, I got my Wii!!!  I got my Wii!!!

As you can tell, I cannot wait for 6:10pm tonight.  BONER!

Chicago Bears 2006-2007

January 30, 2007 By Andrew Hughes Leave a Comment

I did not want to tell anyone this, but this season means more to me than some people think. This is the first and final year I will be able to watch all the Chicago Bears games with my family. I decided that my marriage was way too important. Heather and I are not having problems, but we need to start working on our family. I will still watch the all the games, but most of them will be watched in Galesburg.

I have watched all but 2 games in Kewanee. Game 1 was the Monday Night Massacre against Arizona and Game 2 was against the Vikings Week 13. The rest of the games have been watched at my parents place in Kewanee, IL.

I bet you are thinking, “What a dumbass fan! It’s not like YOU have any impact on games.” Let me finish the damn back story DOUCHE BAG. We all brought together by one thing: the Kewanee Sports League. What is the Kewanee Sports League? The KSL is the fantasy sports league we play in every week. There are 8 members in the 2006 season and 6 are Bears fans. We also have 1 Chiefs fan and 1 Bucs fan. We talk lots of smack and we all get along on and off the playing field. I cannot think of a better group of guys that always can say something to make me laugh when I am sad.

For 20+ weeks a year and 14+ podcasts per year, we are playing fantasy football. Starting this year, we started watching all the games at the Hughes Household (My parents Russ and Chris). Also both of the playoff games have been watched at the Hughes Household. Every game that Doug has worn “the pants”, the Chicago Bears have won. There was a game were my good friend David Pate was there and they lost. Dave is banned from watching games for the rest of the 2006 season. He watched the first half of the Arizona Cardinal’s game… Need I say more? Just kidding Dave; but seriously.

So who has been there? ALL Chicago Bears fans. Here is a list of people who have been there for games:

Andrew Hughes
Aaron Hughes
Russ Hughes III
Mike Smith
Brian Schoutteet
Doug Hahn (with his pants!)
Joe Snider
David Pate
Blake Clayton
Kevin Smith
Kerry Savonski
Ty Palmer
Charlie Harker
Mike (Blake’s Friend)
John Oberg

This season has been very special for most of the people on the list. It will be there year they remember watching games at the Hughes Household. I can always look back this year and think of the fun times we’ve had. I know Blake and his friend Mike will never forget the NFC Championship game in Kewanee, IL. At first, I thought Mike would think we were all idiots. NOPE! He joined in with us after 10 minutes.

Everyone who has been by the Hughes Household has an experience they will never forget. I cannot wait to do the season ending podcast Thursday. It will be a hard one to do. So many memories and so little time. The only thing that would make this season unforgettable would be a Super Bowl win! This year’s party will be off location… Some people would think that this is dumb, due to our winning streak, but I feel good right now. And the Kewanee Sports League feels good also. Blake knows he will be number one on my speed dial. I, of course, will dodge all of Kevin Smith’s phone calls.

No matter what happens now, this will be the first year I will miss. I cannot wait the 4 months before the preparation starts for the 2007 season. There is not a better group of guys than the Kewanee Sports League guys.

Go Chicago Bears!!! Let’s cap it off with a SUPER BOWL XLI WIN!!!
Andrew

It’s be a long time…

January 19, 2007 By Andrew Hughes Leave a Comment

You are probably wondering why haven’t you posted in 2 months. I have not had the time to really post anything. Over the last two months I have been working on MySQL/php programming language. I am trying to host my own fantasy league(s). It has been a really tough process, but hosting all of our fantasy sports on one server will be there worth it. What else; oh, in the next few months, a group of us will be releasing a website dedicated to Music, Movies, Video Games, DVDs, and TV. I have 4 people on board so far and I am hoping to have 9 writers signed.

What else; I recorded 6 podcasts, but I was only able to release 2 of them. I’ve had lots of problems recording as of late. I was able to fix the issue with background noise and with my microphone. I have been told to upgrade my podcast setup by lots of people. I am trying to raise $275.00 for the equipment. I think I will rasie that by next year. Yesssssssssssss

We had a GREAT year in fantasy sports! I finished 3rd overall with an 11-6 record. My brother Aaron won the Kewanee Sports League this year. Also, I will put out the Season Finale in the next few weeks. I should have it done by the Superbowl.

I have been approached by 2 companies, yes people know the companies, to join their podcast/netcast/radio network’s. It was not for Kewanee Sports League, but for Vertebreaker!. I have been thinking about it and decided not to. I have 400+ subscribers and I think that is enough. My small fan base loves me and I can talk to all of them. I feel if I went with company a/b, I would not be able to answer everyone’s questions.

I have also been developing a CMS (Content Management System) for all of 86productions. I have seen how easy it can be to update 50 parts of a webpage in 2 minutes. I also think bandwidth will be saved by switching over. If anyone knows any REALLY good one’s, please contact me at boober86@86productions.com.

Wow, it feels like I am missing a bunch of shit. I guess here is where the *UPDATE* feature will be added.

It is great being back!
